An Inside Look
On your first visit, we will get acquainted and learn the condition of your oral health. The most valuable service we can provide for you at this time is a thorough review your dental history. We have to know about allergies, sensitivity to anesthetics, and current medications to take into consideration your whole health picture.
An oral cancer screening is an essential part of this visit. Like other forms of cancer, a yearly checkup is crucial for discovering early stages of disease. A clear screen result plays a huge part in your peace of mind.
We will want to examine your current denture, jaw alignment, soft tissues and the condition of your bone. We will discuss your needs and explain our procedures. This is one of the best times to ask questions and let us know any questions, hesitations, or concerns you might have.
You will see why we are so proud of our beautiful office which houses our laboratory. Seemless flow between the lab team and the assisting team makes for efficiency, accountability, and pride of work well done.
What To Expect
Your denture is fitted over a period of time. Several 30-60 minute office visits are coordinated with your schedule to create your customized smile. When beginning treatment, we will take a “before” picture of you with your current denture, and ask you to bring a photograph of yourself with natural teeth. Even a snapshot can be a tremendous help in showing your proper facial structure and lip support. If you never liked your natural smile in the first place, no worries! You will get to approve your new and improved smile during a try-in appointment before finalization.
Throughout this process, we discuss what to expect at each stage of fabrication. Our educated team will coach you on successful denture use, giving hints and techniques shared by years of successful patients. The more enthusiastic and positive-minded you are, the more successful your denture experience.
Between Appointments
We are working on your denture while you are away from our office. We have built our lab on the premises so that Dr. Yeoman has complete quality control of her work. Working with skilled technicians, using the highest quality materials, and preserving masterful craftsmanship creates individual works of art that reflect the personality and needs of each individual patient.
Your denture is hand-sculpted and the teeth are fired with a hard, vacuum-formed porcelain imported from Switzerland. We choose from a palette of over 5,000 teeth. These are long-lasting. Over time, your denture will still look natural and feel fine. Swiss bio-linear teeth are manufactured in limited quantities with the same tradition of craftsmanship known to the Swiss for years.
